Shuttered Simsbury Country Club Gets New Life…

After sitting idle for years, the former Tower Ridge Country Club in Simsbury is being converted to a disc golf course, an “experience venue” with local food and beer, and the headquarters of the nonprofit Healing Meals community organization.

Local business leaders and town officials on Thursday praised the unique re-use of the nearly 120-acre property for preserving the land.

“Preserving this is very important to Kevin Casey — he’s been trying for years to find the right idea that would work,” said Sara Nielsen, executive director of the Simsbury Main Street Partnership.

Casey held a reception for community leaders Thursday afternoon and a tour of the grounds that once had a popular restaurant, golf course, pool and tennis courts.
