RECREATION

"It’s the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives.." - Fred Rogers

Play, Chill, Relax

Located in Farmington Valley, a region renowned for outdoor recreation with its Farmington River, and various town and state parks. Our own venue sits adjacent to two of Connecticut’s most visited sites – Talcott Mountain State Park, with its 574 acres of publicly accessible hiking along the Metacomet Trail, and the iconic Heublein Tower.

Here, at the Collective, we celebrate ‘The Art of Recreation,’ with the ability to create your own unique experiences.  Our vast external patio and extended grounds support a mix of exploration, nature viewing, and activities. Complemented by our indoor and outdoor gas and wood burning fire pits, we also encourage simpler pastimes of Extreme Conversation and Human Interaction. It’s all set against a stunning backdrop that lends itself to socially or individually-oriented appreciation.

Amidst our additional green space, you’ll find:

  • Corn hole sets for public use
  • Disc Golf baskets for short course play, and introduction/practice
  • Green space – go toss a football, kick a ball, or just take in the views

Let There Be Golf, Again!

For the uninitiated, Disc Golf has observed a surge in growth and popularity, as the nation and world have seen a rise in course development, and its own governing Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA)- Played in a similar style to traditional golf, but with disc golf discs instead of balls and clubs. One throw (stroke) is counted each time the disc is thrown and when a penalty is incurred. The goal is to play each hole, and all 18, in the fewest strokes possible.

As observed at our adjacent Tower Ridge Disc Golf, which caters to the novice and professionals amongst us, it is truly a game that lends itself to individual, group, and family play. If 18 holes sounds too ambitious to start, our Talcott Mountain Collective also has its own baskets for introduction and practice to help all ages and abilities.
